Lest We Forget: Honouring Remembrance Day
We pause to thank and remember all servicemen and women, past and present, for their service and sacrifice. Remembrance Day is held each year on the 11th of November, this is a time to honour those who have died or suffered in wars, conflicts and peace operations in service of Australia.
Remembrance Day commemorates the anniversary of the 1918 Armistice, which ended the fighting in World War I. Across Australia and many other countries, people observe a minute's silence at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month—the exact moment the Armistice came into effect.
If you can attend, a service will be held at the RSL South Australia.
We will remember them. Lest we forget.
