Salisbury Aquatic Centre Frequently Asked Questions
The following Frequently Asked Questions relate to foundation memberships and general facility information only.
When is the Salisbury Aquatic Centre opening?
The Salisbury Aquatic Centre will open from Monday 24 June 2024.
What facilities does Salisbury Aquatic Centre offer?
Aquatic – Indoor pools include a 25-metre, 4-lane lap and leisure pool, and a program pool designed for learn to swim and aqua-aerobics. The 50-metre outdoor pool has 8 lanes and will be open during the summer season. All pools are heated, include ramps, and are suitable for people with a variety of access requirements.
Water play and slides – Opening during the summer season, the splash pad provides the perfect play space for children, featuring a tipping bucket, three slides, surrounding water sprinklers and other water play areas, as well as a canopy overhead to keep the area shaded.
Next to the splash pad is the impressive and colourful 10-metre-high triple water slide tower, with a shade sail over the tower. The bright colours of the design were inspired by the Rainbow Lorikeets, commonly sighted in the surrounding trees.
Health Club – Salisbury Aquatic Centre offers a state-of-the-art health club, overlooking the outdoor pool, which hosts modern cardio equipment, pin loaded machines, free weights and a dedicated functional fitness area. There is also a group fitness room which will host a range of fitness classes.
Food and drink – A fully equipped café, with a range of meal and healthy snack options, will be open 8am to 6pm, year-round.
Change rooms/lockers – The Salisbury Aquatic Centre will have male, female and family change facilities (including parents’ room). There are also lockers available to store possessions.
Changing Places – The Salisbury Aquatic Centre will be equipped with a Changing Places facility, which provides larger than standard accessible toilets, shower, hoist, and change facilities to meet the needs of those with a range of accessibility requirements.
Where is Salisbury Aquatic Centre?
The Salisbury Aquatic Centre is located at Happy Home Reserve. Waterloo Corner Road, Salisbury North, South Australia 5108.
What are the opening hours?
The Salisbury Aquatic Centre will operate with seasonal operating hours.
Opening hours are Monday to Friday, 5.30am to 9pm, and Saturday to Sunday from 7am to 6pm. The pools will close 30 minutes before the Centre
What will be offered during winter?
The following facilities will be available during winter operational hours:
- health club
- cafe
- indoor aquatic facilities
- learn to swim
Winter seasonal hours will operate from May to September (in line with South Australian school holiday periods).
What will be offered during Summer?
The following facilities will be available during summer operational hours:
- health club
- learn to swim
- cafe
- indoor aquatic facilities
- outdoor 50-metre pool
- three water slides
- interactive splash pad/water playground
Summer seasonal hours will operate from October to April (in line with South Australian school holiday periods).
What are the water slide operational hours?
The water slides will operate during summer operational hours.
Slide opening hours are Monday to Friday, 4pm to 6pm, and Saturday to Sunday from 10am to 4pm.
The water slides will operate for extended hours during school holidays and on public holidays.
What are the entry fees and membership prices?
The Salisbury Aquatic Centre offers a range of membership and casual entry fees.
The Centre has established membership options as the most cost-effective way for the local community to access the health club and aquatic facilities on an ongoing basis.
Casual entry fees, visit passes and concession discounts will be announced closer to the opening date and published on the Salisbury Aquatic Centre website.
What does a foundation membership include?
The Salisbury Aquatic Centre’s exclusive Foundation Memberships are available for a limited time. Foundation members can benefit from:
- unlimited health club access
- unlimited group fitness classes
- virtual group fitness classes
- access to our indoor and outdoor aquatic facilities
- member support programs
- exclusive discounted membership prices
- no joining fees
- no payment until the Centre opens.
Is there parking available?
There are 152 car parks at the Salisbury Aquatic Centre (46 more than were previously available) including spaces for people with a variety of accessibility requirements, overflow parking for peak times, and dedicated bus bays for school groups.
Are there public transport options?
The Salisbury Aquatic Centre is nestled within the grounds of Happy Home Reserve.
To find your most convenient public transport route to Happy Home Reserve, use the Plan my Journey tool on the Adelaide Metro website.
Frequent busses to Happy Home Reserve include the 400, 401, 402, 403, 404, and 411.
Those travelling from the CBD can catch the train on the Gawler Central line to the Salisbury Interchange, before transferring to bus.
The Salisbury Community Bus route is being adjusted to include the Salisbury Aquatic Centre.
Does Salisbury Aquatic Centre have accessible bathrooms, parking spaces, and other facilities?
The Salisbury Aquatic Centre is an inclusive facility that can be embraced by the whole community.
Accessibility was carefully considered throughout the design process, to accommodate for a range of requirements, especially when designing the change rooms, café, and indoor program pool and parking.
The Centre is equipped with accessible bathroom stalls, showers, parking spaces and access ramps for the pools and water play area.
