At Salisbury Aquatic Centre, our community is full of inspiring individuals who are dedicated to their fitness journeys. This month, we’re thrilled to shine the spotlight on two of our valued health club members, Angie and James, who share their experiences, goals, and tips for staying motivated.
Why They Joined
James and Angie, local residents, were previously members of another gym but decided to check out Salisbury Aquatic Centre when it opened. “We liked the facilities here, along with the pool, the classes that are available, and the gym equipment,” James shared. The vibrant atmosphere and diverse offerings, from heated indoor and outdoor pools to a fully equipped gym, made it an easy choice to join the BlueFit Health Club.
Their Fitness Routine
Angie is a fan of circuit training, particularly enjoying a program led by trainer Mitch that guides them through various machines. “My favourite class at the moment is Body Combat,” she says. “I’m really enjoying it!” Their routines are designed to keep them active and engaged, making the most of the health club’s dynamic offerings.
Achievements and Goals
For James and Angie, fitness is about staying healthy and active as they age. “Our goal is just to try and keep a little bit fit, which is very important, especially as you get older,” James explains. Their focus is on consistency and maintaining motivation, which has helped them stay committed to their workouts and feel great.
The Power of Community
Being part of the Salisbury Aquatic Centre community has been a game changer for Angie. “With that comes consistency,” she says. “If you’ve got the motivation to get up in the morning and set yourself a goal, I think that will help you out in the long run.” The supportive environment and like minded members create a positive space that keeps them coming back.
Advice for Newcomers
James has simple but powerful advice for anyone starting their fitness journey: “You just have to take that first step. Once you do, you will hopefully get really motivated, and that motivation becomes a habit.” The welcoming community at the health club also plays a big role, as James notes, “You look forward to the next week, seeing everyone too.”
Staying Motivated in Winter
With winter’s chill setting in, Angie has her eyes on warmer days: “Summer is coming. It’s around the corner. So, the best time to start is now in winter. Get out of bed, get that mindset happening, and things will fall into place.” Her tip? Build a routine early to carry you through the colder months with momentum.
